Erich Beine was recruited on April 15, 1936 in the. Company of the Air News Division I / 14 in Münster. In 1938 he was appointed a sergeant candidate and on April 1, 1939 in the 9th Company of the III. Flugmelde-Ausbildungs-Abteilung relocated. On May 15, 1939 he was transferred to the 7th Company of the Air Communications Regiment 1 and already on September 12, 1939 to the Flugmelde company to Lübeck, where he was promoted on October 1, 1939 to sergeant major. On July 27, 1940, he was transferred to the parachute troop and commanded as a platoon commander to the 2nd Company of the Air Communications Division 41. After attending the parachute school I in Wittstock Erich legs was transferred on March 1, 1941 in the 1st Battalion of the Paratrooper Storm Regiment 1, where he was promoted to lieutenant on April 15, 1941. On March 7, 1944, he was transferred by the air force intelligence to the air force and leader of the III. Battalion of the Paratrooper Storm Regiment . He was awarded the Knight's Cross on November 18, 1944, to clean up an enemy infiltration in the area of the regiment on the Italian front. On March 15, 1945, he was then commander of the 1st Battalion and still on May 1, 1945 promoted to Major. On April 19, 1945, he had been awarded the wounded badge in gold. On May 23, 1945, he fell into British captivity, from which he was released on April 16, 1946.
